Semana Veinte Siete

Hey everyone!!!
Things are awesome here in Marcala, I am learning to love the people and trying to be a better missionary every day. News for the week:

1) I ate raccoon....it wasn’t too bad to be honest, better than chicken feet.  K
2) Something that I have learned here is that when high men follow you and ask for libros de Mormons, don’t give them any because they use it to smoke marijuana.
3) The Lord is with us every second of the day and wants to bless us, he works through us to bless the lives of others.

This week has been a crazy week of finding people and something that I have learned is that the people here really are opening to listening to us but won’t do anything to read the Book of Mormon and pray, but we do have a few investigators who read and pray and their the familia Lemus and hermano Fredy. Both are awesome and are growing and changing every day. It’s motivating me to change and grow because that is what the Lord expects of us. It’s why we have the atonement and repentance.   Repentance is not always great big changes, it’s the little efforts that we do every day the small changes the small actions that make all the difference.  Like Thomas S. Monson said - decisions determine destiny.  The decisions that we make now can affect our future in the long run, and it’s true, I am so glad for the decisions that I made in my life to bring me to this point.

Another thing that I am trying to do is to love love love... the love and service that we demonstrate for other people is how we can help them and influence them to become better, to have a desire to change.

This week we have been teaching hermano Fredy, and he is growing and changing.  Before in his life he didn’t want to do anything that involved God and religion, but after his motorcycle accident he has been contemplating life and God, and he is accepting and listening to us, and reading the Book of Mormon and praying.  He doesn’t understand anything, but that is why we are here, to help bring the Spirit into his life to help him understand a little bit more of the things pertaining  to spirituality.

Familia Lemus is coming along!! We are working with them on their boda (wedding) and helping them to quit drinking coffee.  Whats amazing is that they have such a desire to change and such a testimony of the church - they know it is true. Oh, and they have a new baby who’s about a week and a half old!! He’s so tiny and cute.  He doesn’t have a name todavia, but they are thinking of one.

I love you all!!! Keep on being lights and examples!!!
