Hola Familia y Amigos!! This week has been full of teeny
miracles!! But first off I wanna congratulate my mommy and Monte Vista Trebs
for taking First Place in Golden State this past week!! Way to go everyone!! You
guys are the best!! I know I didn’t go to Monte Vista, but I am constantly
rooting for you guys and praying for ya’ll!!
Miracle #1: We have been finding new people like crazy!!! This
week in total we have found about 10 new people to teach and what’s even
crazier is we found about 20 last week!!!
#2 The lawyer that we have been trying to get in contact
with who is in charge of Familia Cruz and the divorce of the husband finally
answered our calls!! We have been calling him nonstop for about a week, and it
turns out that we only have to wait a week more to see if they are completely
done!!! The family is already working on getting their papers ready for their
boda and then they can get married super quick. (fun fact, almost everyone here
isn’t married)
#3 WE had a noche de hogar this week with another family who
we are working with, their daughter Diana is the only member in her family (she
reminds me of me when I was 16) she’s awesome, she fasts every single week for
her family to come to church... every single week she has been fasting since
January. It is such a privilege to teach her family, we have become really good
friends too, and we are basically soul sisters :) We had a noche de hogar in
the home of the Familia Duarte. Familie
Darte is awesome, they are ex misión presidents of Peru and also the husband
used to be part of the Seventy. We talked about eternal families and the spirit
in this lesson was so strong, I know that the Familia Guevara felt the spirit.
#4 We had an actividad de zona where we washed cars for free
(fun fact, no one in Honduras understands the meaning of free :P), but we got
some really great references of families that we tried to contact yesterday. We
were only able to reach one, but we are going to keep trying.
#5 yesterday our citas fijas fell through, and we had the
impression that we needed to go and visit our ward misión leader, so we did,
and it turns out right as we got there the family was just about to start a
noche de hogar with a less active that we have been working on to get back to
church. It was totally inspired but the Lord, and you know what? The trust is
growing between us and our Ward mission leader.
I love the misión so much!! To be completely honest my days
are really hard and long and frustrating, but you know what? The joy that one
feels knowing that you are serving the lord with all your might mind and strength
is so worth it. Seeing the joy that on someone’s face when they are baptized is
so worth it because they know they are clean and they are starting on the path
towards eternal life. I have learned so much about the atonement and the gospel
in such a short time and my testimony and love for this gospel has strengthened.
It just makes so much sense!! Everything
about the Church does, and I know with my whole heart and soul that it is true.
¨
I love you everyone!! Keep pushing forward!!
¨Si uno no vive para servir, no sirve para vivir¨ This is my
new motto, so it doesn’t matter how high your numbers are, what really matters
is if you’re trying your very hardest every day, if you are consecrating all
your time and effort to this work.
