Semana Once - HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

HOLA familia!!

I hope everything was wonderful for you this Christmas!! It was such a wonderful blessing to Skype with you this Christmas and see everyone’s faces :) Anyways, Christmas was very quiet, it poured rain here, and it was crazy!!! I got soaked in about 2 minutes. Anyways the Hermanas had to come in early on the 24th because from about 8 to 3 people set off fireworks nonstop.  I didn’t get any sleep and that was really fun. J  But for Christmas Eve everyone eats a lot.  I don’t know how I feel about that.

But anywasy we worked and talked and tried to share a message about Christmas with people, sometimes we couldn’t so we would just plugged along to the next house and shared the message. Anyways our investigators are progressing!!  We have about 5 baptismal dates set, 2  are for sure, Wendy who is 19 is on the 17th, and Allison, she is 13 and is on the 10th. Her situation is really interesting, her mom and brother are members and they are going to live with their father in Miami for a better schooling education at the end of this month. The condition is that her mom can’t have any communication with them and it is the most heartbreaking situation I have ever heard of. But I know that the lord has a very specific plan for here and I hope that we can help her before she leaves.

Yesterday we had a wonderful mission program where we invited our investigators and less actives to remember what the significance of Christmas is.  It was about 5 stakes worth of our misión.  And there were over 750 people who came, excluding the missionaries. I happened to be part of one of the Zones to sing in the choir, and since every single Latino Elder thinks I have a good voice I ended up singing a duet. Try and go look on the mission blog that Hermana Fortuna has... it’s possibly there. That was terrifying, but so good. The spirit was really strong and an even better Christmas present was that Frank Caral and one of his kids came!! He is one of our investigators.  He has some problems with drugs and alcohol and they need to get married but they are coming along and they said they will have their marriage papers or what not ready by the 10th!! Yay!!  Remember what this month was all about, Christ. He is the best gift we could ever have in our lives, because he has given us a second chance at a second life and to become better as people. He knows us better than anyone else in this world, and he knows exactly how to help us in everything. He is our Savoir and Redeemer. I have gained such a testimony of the atonement and the Savoir here. There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t use the atonement, because I am so imperfect. We have the opportunity to become something unimaginably great. We get to become more like him and return to live with our Heavenly Father again. That is the best gift in the world.
